Flail Tank (Minenräumpanzer)

Mine Clearing are armored vehicles, whose basic design mostly on an existing main battle tank model is based and designed specifically for the spaces were converted minefields. For this purpose, at the front of the carapace, a mine flail is attached, which is a rotating device consisting of chains and similar solid steel balls with which the buried mines are detonated. The Bundeswehr has this, the mine clearing boar in use.

Specially equipped tanks also have the opportunity to shoot Minenräumschnüre through a minefield. With the help of a small rocket with a cord explosives (eg C4 ) spread across the minefield and then detonated. The shock wave from the detonation triggers the mines in the area and removes.
